~Mom & Dad come to visit: day 1~
Summer has finally come to our mountaintop! At least that's what it's seemed like when I've been up here in the last several days! Mom and Dad have come to visit this week; they arrived in the early afternoon, and intend to spend the week out and about, sharing my life in Latin America with them and enjoying the CR sun. At least I have been. I've regained my tan a bit. (Mom and Dad have been sweating it all out and Dad wants to visit during the rainy season next time lol.) But it's been nicely humid out, even at night, which makes it seem more summery. Less wind! So, I'll be sharing updates about the week we'll share together...
Sunday: after picking up Mom and Dad from the airport around noon, greeting them with fresh fruit and hot pupusas from the Sunday morning fería in San Rafael, we stopped by a supermercado to grab some foods for the week. Up to the CRC to show them around and settle in and rest a bit before a family dinner out with nearly the whole CRC family at Añoranzas--an eclectic restaurant that features comida típica (typical food) and beetles flying around overhead... not trying to avoid our plates of food either! It was a lovely meal shared with Em and her dad Paul on his last night visiting, Kristina and her dear friend Andi (who used to work in the Whitworth Chapel), and Dinorah and Lindy joined us after Dinorah picked up Lindy from the airport, upon his return from Chicago.

Upon returning to the CRC that night, Mom had a sleepover with me in my room during our first night reunited in Costa Rica! <3
