More from the greenhouse!

Exciting things have been happening out back behind the guard tower! The greenhouse construction has been completed! (Complete with door and lock, and an outdoor sink that is hooked up to running water! We hope to get a rainwater storage system set up soon, to which we'll hook up the sink eventually and also draw from to water plants!)
The invernadero (greenhouse) from the front.
The greenhouse from a distance, as you can see, behind the guard tower.
Complete with lock to keep unwanted visitors out and our plants and such in!!
It's super exciting that the majority of this project has been with re-used materials--the door, the wood, some of the roofing! The wood came from all over our property; where piles of old materials from previous construction and projects on the premises, so we virtually paid nothing for the walls of our greenhouse! Luis (our maintenance/fixer/build it man up here on campus) has been absolutely amazing in finding and re-using old materials to fashion a magnificent plan of a greenhouse! It's been a blessing seeing how fast it's gone up and how bits and pieces of everyone's visions and working to together have build this!
The outdoor sink, which was a leftover piece from the old kitchen,
when the CRC used to be a restaurante in its former life.
Today and yesterday, Travis and I worked on constructing another raised bed/box. It's a C-shaped box. In this one, we'll put in bamboo sticks as trellises for beans and other viney plants to grow up.
At the end of the day yesterday, Saturday, which was when we staked
and framed the raised bed/box.
Mmm! fresh compost! enriching the soil we put into
the completed box this afternoon. Even though it smells
like poo at present, it will yield healthy, strong produce!
Travis smoothes out the soil in our new box, where we
also inserted bamboo sticks, so that we can (trans)plant viney
veggies/fruits in the next couple of weeks (think beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc.)
The finished raised bed with bamboo trellises,
almost ready to start growing yummies!
And an update on the seeds Trav, Bean, and I planted in one of the planter boxes and in some start-cartons a couple weeks back: they're growing!!
Potted plants, for transplant sometime in the future.
To be transplanted into our new raised bed soon!
