OK, it's November 1st. This means that for those of you in North America, the post-Halloween decor fades from view, and Thanksgiving and--what's worse--CHRISTMAS promotions, sales pitches, and decorations fill the window fronts, advertisements, billboards, and shopping centers... encouraging you to buy, buy, buy! (Or, if you live in countries that don't celebrate Halloween or Thanksgiving, a.k.a. anywhere outside of the U.S., you've probably been bombarded since the middle of October with "holiday" greetings and advertising.)
So, as an alternative to BUYING, how about simply just "giving" of what you may already have? Compassion International sends out Impact newletters and this month's update had a link to the website, http://ilikegiving.com/. Within the website, there is a list of options for how to give during the Holiday Season (or really for any time... but since it's November and the holidays are now on the minds of many people, might I suggest doing some of the following ideas listed on this website): http://ilikegiving.com/ideas-for-giving
